Volunteering

Some pics from volunteering with local disadvantaged children in Kowloon through work. A bunch of us went to a center where we helped kids build telescopes. It was amazing that these young kids -- most of whom looked like they were less than nine years old -- were able to sit patiently through a three-hour session of learning about astronomy, building telescopes and then going out to use them. I can't think of too many American kids with the same focus at that age. Unfortunately, the skies in Hong Kong were so foggy and polluted you couldn't see the moon, let along any stars!
