A Night in Mong Kok

Mong Kok is a neighborhood in Kowloon that roughly translates to "busy area," and busy it is. On a Sunday night at 10 p.m. it was as packed as Times Square. It's a neighborhood that just a few years ago was apparently pretty sleazy. These days it's a huge shopping area where you can buy anything from high-end electronics to cheap, knock off chotchkies. It's a great place to grab dinner at an outdoor street restaurant and do some people watching.

Narrow passageways filled with very cheap knock-offs for sale...

These shrimp-like critters were described to me as looking like cockroaches. Fortunately, they taste a lot better than that.

Stinky Tofu. It lives up to its name, but isn't so bad if you put some hot chilly sauce on it...
