Cleanliness is next to Godliness?

In Hong Kong, there's a real obsession with germs and cleanliness. The photos below help to tell the story. The irony is that this comes from the same people who are breathing in heavily polluted air, eating chemically treated vegetables and drinking from what I can only imagine are some fairly gnarly water sources... With all of those variables in play who cares whether or not  your elevator gets sanitized every two hours?

  1. Good points! Is it really important to sterilize drains with bleach daily?? If so, my drains are very dirty. Good thing I don't eat off of them! Hong Kong was our first trip so I don't remember all the names of places, but we really enjoyed the island across from the city. There were some parts that were too touristy though. Have you been to Victoria's Peak yet? Another one of our favorite areas. Contact me on FB if you are planning a trip out of HK and I'll see if I can help! Megan
