The Maid's Day Off...

Hong Kong is full of Filipino women who work as maids and helpers in people's homes. They work very hard cleaning house, running errands, taking care of people's kids. All for very little money. Sundays are their day off and they congregate all over the city, camping out on footbridges, sitting together in groups on the ground on mats or newspaper or cardboard. There they talk, eat and play cards. Sometimes they build little cardboard shelters (I assume to block the wind and maybe for a bit of privacy). It's pretty bizarre, because there are thousands of them who congregate in these little shanty towns...
